thumb

Had to hang my cb500 again to do another round of wheel switching. Like last time, once i had the wheels back on i had to lower it back down. So i got the back wheel down by releasing both straps with no problem. BUT i could only get one of the straps released on the front. so this left the front lifted by one strap. And just so i am clear, thats about 200+ pounds hanging off the floor. so standing on the right side of the bike i started to mess with the strap. then… zip… it released. only as it started to travel downward, it was kind enough to suck in my left thumb. so my thumb was used to hold 1/2 a bike in the air. this is the closest i have come to shock and tears since i broke my elbow when i was 15. and i have to say i was more scared this time, even though it still sucks standing up and seeing your arm facing the wrong way. anyways, there i was with my left arm pinned to my chest across my body trying to hold the bike up by the handle bars with my right hand across my body the other way. it was useless, in that position i couldn’t even lift it at all. Sam was gone so no one was there to help me. i thought about screaming for help, but that is kinda dramatic. i ended up letting go of the bike with my right hand, letting my thumb bare the full weight. quickly threw my leg over the bikeĀ  so i was sitting on it (all the while, breathing like a pregnant woman in labor). crossed my right arm behind my head and cranked the other front strap back up until i slacked the strap i was stuck in. then freedom. all in all, only a bruise under my thumb nail. thanks thumb nail, for letting my keep my finger tip.
