100 miles on fresh tune up

CB550 did great on its first few rides after its recent work. Took it on the freeway for the first time, (i90, i5, 405, and 167). max speed: 88mph so far. still felt like it had a lot more head room.

here are a few things i learned while riding today:

1. running out of gas at 80 sux! even more so when you are in the car pool lane with no shoulder.

2. above 50mph, the hood on my jacket becomes a mini parachute! creates a ton of drag. that added with the wind makes a really exciting/hard ride.

3. when you yell at stupid pedestians they can sometimes hear you through your helmet.

NCVH cleaned and polished this to a sweet shine. that with the added nickel chain, and new lights
are starting make this bike look great. found a place to chrome my tank for under $200. now i only need my new seat. i hate germany.

tonight i am moving the key to a more useful place. right under the tree, instead of under the fucking tank.

also added some new Pirellis. feel ok so far, but i am still afraid of the slide-out that comes with new tires.

  1. The bike is looking good. Nice work to you and North City! Right around 70mph do you start to feel like a bobblehead or is it just me?

  2. Thanks man. at 70 i only feel the head thing when i do shoulder checks. what size is your helmet? I do however, feel like i will slide off my bike, but i guess that is why i am adding a bump seat. Love

  3. I wear a size, huge (XL).
